Biobide presents a collaboration project with NIH-NIEHS at the American College of Toxicology Meeting in Florida

The American College of Toxicology is an international body of research and regulatory scientists dedicated to a safer global community, gathering large numbers of scientists from United States and other countries every year. The program of this year’s meeting was designed to provide excellent quality scientific content that is applicable to the practice of toxicology.

During the ACT 2018 meeting in West Palm Beach, Biobide USA’s Co-Founder and CEO Arantza Muriana presented a poster about a collaborative work with NIH-NIEHS lead by our senior scientific directors Ainhoa Alzualde, Ph.D. and Celia Quevedo, Ph.D. The aim of this study was to evaluate 90 blinded compounds suspected to be developmental neurotoxic or neurotoxic and evaluate their neurotoxic potential using a fast, sensitive and cost-effective screening method – zebrafish embryos. Furthermore, an internal dosing analysis was carried out to measure the actual concentrations at which toxic effects were observed.
